Biography

John Barnes has built his LPL Financial planning practice based in Riverside CA, He provides service to clients in California and throughout the US. Serving in the financial services industry for over 8 years, John holds his Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations, as well as his California Insurance License for Life, Health, and Disability.

After becoming the trustee of his mother’s trust over 20 years ago, John enlisted the services of a financial advisor for the first time in his life. Prior to this experience, John knew very little about finances. Throughout this personal process, John grew to appreciate the impact and importance his trusted financial advisor had on himself, and on his family. Realizing that he wanted to help people in the same capacity, John returned to college as an adult, and earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge.

Fun, spontaneous, and caring, John spends his free time hiking or backpacking with his partner Richard in the mountains with their Basset Hound, Lily and Pointer, Coco. Outside of the office, John leads a monthly workshop for Lutheran Social Services in Riverside that helps people transition out of homelessness.
